Impossible Pie Cookbook
A collection of incredibly irresistible recipes, including some published in "The Calendar" newspaper from 1983 to 1986.
Bubble 'n' Squeak, Cook's Corner and People's Pantry were names given to the cooking column published each week in "The Calendar" newspaper. The idea was to pass on recipes submitted by residents of Winfield, Oyama, Okanagan Centre and Carrs Landing, collectively now known as Lake Country. This close-knit community is in the gorgeous fruit and wine growing area of the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada.
In this cookbook, there is literally a little of everything from soups to nuts: basic sauces, condensed milk, or how-to pastry to luscious gourmet casseroles. I've even included such exotic dishes as Pavlova, Strawberries with Bavarian Cream and Kangaroo Tail Stew!
A lot of these recipes are originals, others have been through many family "troop trials".
But they're all well worth adding to your gastronomic repertoire.
The dish, Impossible Pie has become a favourite because of its wonderful taste of coconut and egg custard and its simplicity. It's foolproof and what better than to name this book after a sweet, uncomplicated and practical classic?
This Cookbook is an ideal gift for your family, friends and serious collectors. It's perfect for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, showers, weddings etc.
